NAV Override Kit - How to install

This will outline how to assemble and install our 'Navigation Override  - DIY Kit' for the 1419 Kit and 2020 Kit.

Your kit should have the items pictured below:

  • Harness Wire
  • Override Switch
  • Extension Wire
  • Heat Shrink Wrap
  • Zip Tie

Step 1: Strip the wires and connect the switch to the extension wire.  The colors of the wires are irrelevant and can be ignored.  Once the wires are connected, cover them with the heat shrink tubing to protect the connections.  The included heat shrink tubing has glue inside that will melt when heated to hold the wires together.  You can twist the wires together because of this, soldering or other connection methods are not needed.

Step 2: Find the harness connection wire and cut it in half.

Step 3: Strip the wires and connect the Harness Connection wires to the other end of the extension wire.

Step 4: Locate your Override Harness.  This is the harness with the Red and Orange wires on it.

For 14-19 Vehicles you will want to locate wire 17 which is third from the left on the bottom row while looking at the female connector with the clip on top (as pictured above).

For 2020 Vehicles you will want to locate wire 27 which is second from the right on the bottom row while looking at the female connector with the clip on top (as pictured above).

Step 5: Remove the wire from the harness by inserting the male end of the Override wire into the small slot on the harness connector for the appropriate wire.  Once the pin is inserted you can pull the wire out of the connector.

Step 6: Insert your Nav override assembly into the Override Harness.  When you insert the pins you should hear/feel a small 'click'.  If you do not this is fine as long as the wire is secure in the harness.

Step 7:  Button it up.  Use the zip tie to bundle the wires together and then insert the harness into your vehicle!

You will now be able to toggle the switch and override any function that would have been locked out while in motion.  We do not support the vehicle operator using this feature, it is intended for use by a vehicle passenger only.
